AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 scores, schedule, live stream: Quarterfinal stage set as Australia get South Korea
The 2022 AFC Asian Women’s Cup officially kicked off this month as 12 countries compete to lift the continental Cup. Japan are the 2018 reigning champions, and several teams will compete for the title and five qualifying spots in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The tournament is hosted in India with matches played in three stadiums across the country. Fans can watch the entire 2022 AFC Women’s Cup on Paramount+.
Matchday 3 confirmed the remaining quarterfinalists with China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, Philippines and Chinese Taipei have all entered the knockout rounds based on the final group matches. Tournament hosts India have withdrawn from the competition due to a string of positive cases of COVID-19.
Thursday’s action closed out with Group C action as all four teams play out to draws. Japan and South Korea, the co-favorites of the group, finished their final group match with a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Vietnam and Myanmar earned their first goals of the tournament in a 2-2 draw but were eliminated from knockout stage contention.
