In the just-finished second Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, Sarfaraz Ahmed showed signs of revival as he smashed a century to save Pakistan. The hosts were able to draw the second Test on Day 5 thanks to the wicketkeeper-118 batter’s runs off 176 balls, which included nine fours and a six. The series, which included the opening game, likewise concluded in a tie as the contest finished in a draw.
Sarfaraz’s victory was a return for him after he was made the victim of Pakistan’s World Cup elimination and stripped of his captaincy. A journalist recently questioned Pakistan skipper Babar Azam about Sarfaraz during a news conference, and the batsman responded with a scathing takedown.

(He saved Pakistan’s pride. Do you think he should have got a chance in the series vs England and do you regret that he wasn’t part of the team for four years?)”
“Nahi, mujhe koi pachtawa nahi (No. I don’t have any regrets)”, Babar simply replied.
🗣️ “He executed his plans well and rescued the team from difficult situations.”

Shahid Afridi Clarifies Mohammad Rizwan Is Pakistan’s Main Wicketkeeper In White Ball Cricket
Mohammad Rizwan continues to be Pakistan’s primary wicketkeeper in both T20Is and ODIs, according to a recent press conference by PCB interim head selector Shahid Afridi, which may put an end to Sarfaraz’s chances of reaching the World Cup roster. In the team for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, Sarfaraz is not included.
“I’m very happy that Saifi has made a comeback and given such an amazing performance, but Mohammad Rizwan is available and he is our main wicket-keeper in both T20Is and ODIs”, Afridi said.
“God forbid if Rizwan gets injured or if he’s tired, we’ll then consider other options. Let’s not mix someone’s Test performance with that of limited overs”, he further added.
