England Cricket Board (ECB) has named a new white ball analyst in the form of Freddie Wilde. Freddie Wilde replaces Nathan Leamon where Nathan played a vital role in helping England win the 2019 WC & 2022 T20 WC. He was often termed as the cricketing brain behind the triumph through his coded signals.
Freddie Wilde’s first assignment would be against dangerous Bangladesh in March for a 3 Match ODI Series. These ODIs would be a part of the World Super League where both teams have already qualified for the 2023 World Cup. England is the only team that has won ODI Series in Bangladesh in the last 8 years.
Freddie Wilde an Asset
Freddie Wilde currently is working along with Desert Vipers in the UAE ILT20 league. Before that he was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as an analyst. He acted as a consultant for Rajasthan Royals and was the team analyst of Oval Invincibles for in 2021 Hundred tournament. Freddie can be the lightning spark for England’s white ball team who have a great chance to retain the 2023 WC.
Huge Challenge Ahead for England
It would be interesting to see how Freddie Wilde fares as England’s white ball analyst as being with franchises & with National teams is a complete different ball game. England fans would be hoping that the team continues it’s winning juggernaut as they have developed a habit of finding match winners.
Freddie has been around the county clubs for quite some time. He is currently with CricViz as an Analyst and will leave the role of CricViz. The main agenda of ECB would be to manage the work-load of players in this changing landscape of the cricket where leagues are surpassing International Cricket.
