“The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities to acquire the right to own and operate a team in the Women’s Indian Premier League, through a tender process,” a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement read.
Also, the BCCI mentioned that the entities will have to make a payment of INR 5 lakh, which will be non-refundable, by January 21 to access the Invitation to Tender (ITT).
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jake Lush McCrum has revealed that they have already got the tender documents.

We want a team and we have shown that keenness – RR CEO Jake Lush McCrum
Jake further said that they have made huge investments in women’s cricket and are keen to buy a franchise in the Women’s Indian Premier League.
“We have invested a huge amount of money in women’s cricket especially in last few years. And that will continue whatever happens.”
“There is some reasonable economics involved, but we want a team and we have shown that keenness. And it would have been two years ago. It might have been just us or a couple of others who were really keen to push this cause (Women’s IPL). And it’s great to see the growth of the women’s game since then,” he further said.
The long-awaited Women’s IPL is all set to begin this year and the tournament is set to have 5 teams. The official dates for the tournament have not been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, reports claim that the Women’s IPL is likely to be played from March 3 to March 26 in India.
