Indian Cricket Team had won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 2nd T20I match at Pune. Sri Lanka had a great start to their power-play overs as they managed to score 55 runs for the loss of no wickets. Indian bowlers were getting thrashed all around the park where skipper Hardik Pandya looked clueless.
The middle overs proved to be decisive as the introduction of spinners slowed down the run rate. Axar Patel took 2 crucial wickets of Pathum Nissanka & Dhananjay de Silva and gave away 24 runs in his 4 overs. Sri Lankan batters looked in two minds whether to attack or defend which hurt them.

Umran Malik Cleans Up Wanindu Hasaranga
At the end of 15 overs, Sri Lanka’s score was 129-4 where Charith Asalanka was well set where he scored 30 runs in 15 balls. Umran Malik was given the ball in the 16th over where had got rid of Asalanka on the 5th ball and on the next ball, Umran bowled a ripper and thrashed Hasaranga’s stumps. All of a sudden Sri Lanka found themselves in a spot of bother at 138-6.
Crucial Phase for India
India should not take the duo Dasun Shanka & Chamika Karunaratne lightly as they are capable of taking the total in excess of 190. It would be interesting to see how Hardik Pandya uses his bowlers because all the spinners have bowled out and it looks unlikely that he would bowl.
Sri Lanka on the other hand would be well aware of the fact that the dimensions of the ground are not that big. All the onus would be on the skipper Dasun Shanaka as he has some pretty good record against the mighty Indian Cricket Team as we all witnessed how he almost took Sri Lanka over the finish line in the 1st T20I match.
