MUMBAI: Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who missed the first T20I in Lucknow on Thursday due to a wrist injury, has been ruled out of the series.
Opener Mayank Agarwal, who had reached Chandigarh ahead of the Tests, has been asked to join as ‘cover’ in Dharamsala for the final two T20I games.

Though Agarwal has played 164 T20s and is set to lead Punjab Kings in the IPL, he’s yet to make his T20I debut for India.

“An MRI scan was later conducted followed by a specialist consultation. Ruturaj will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further management of his injury.”
Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar are already out of the series with a fractured wrist and hamstring injury respectively.
