Cavaliers land Lauri Markkanen from Bulls in three-team, sign-and-trade
According to a report, the Cavaliers, Bulls, and Trail Blazers traded three teams on Friday which will send Lauri Markkanen to Cleveland.
ESPN reports that the Cavaliers are sending Larry Nance Jr. to trade trailblazers and a 2023 second-round pick for Chicago, a former limited free agent who signed a four-year, 67 million contract. Portland swingman Derek Jones Jr. is sending the primary round of lottery-safe selection bills to the 2022 draft to finalize the sign and trade.
Lauri Markkanen, 24, averaged 13.6 points in 51 games and 5.3 rebounds per game in Chicago last year. The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Lauri Markkanen because of the No. 7 overall pick within the 2017 NBA Draft.
When Chicago acquired former Spurs forward Demar Derozan within the sign and trade, it made the Marquee a valuable piece of the franchise.
