LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson accused of sexual harassment by former associate athletic director

LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson has been accused of sexual harassment by former associate athletic director Sharon Lewis, according to court filings obtained by The Advocate. Wilson, who in his second stint as Tigers running backs coach after serving in the same role from 2010-15, allegedly exposed himself to Lewis and asked her to touch his genitalia during his previous employment with the school. The court documents also allege that Wilson attempted to kiss a different female employee without her consent.

The allegations against Wilson are part of a larger lawsuit filed by Lewis against the school which alleges that the school retaliated against her for reporting to higher-ups that former coach Les Miles — who was leading the program during Wilson’s first stint — sexually harassed students.

“We are unaware of any prior allegations against Frank Wilson, and there is no evidence that any such allegations were ever reported to LSU officials,” LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard told The Advocate on Thursday. “Further, none of these allegations were shared during the highly visible, independent Title IX review that LSU initiated last year.”

Miles was fired by LSU in September 2016 amid a 2-2 start to the season and declining performance on the field. The lawsuit filed by Lewis led to Miles’ dismissal from Kansas in March 2021 after two seasons leading the Jayhawks.

Wilson was hired back in Baton Rouge by first-year Tigers coach Brian Kelly prior after serving as the head coach at UTSA (2016-19) and McNeese State (2020-21). He is widely known as one of the best recruiters in the country. He is credited for signing multiple former stars at LSU including former No. 1 overall recruit and star running back Leonard Fournette in 2014, superstar receiver and NFL veteran Jarvis Landry in 2011 and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White in 2016.
