Oregon added a dynamic offensive addition to its 2022 recruiting class, as four-star running back Jordan James flipped from Georgia to the Ducks live on CBS Sports HQ. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee, product also took a late visit to Florida, but ultimately decided to join new Oregon coach Dan Lanning in moving from UGA to Oregon.

James gives Oregon’s small transitional recruiting class an offensive headliner, as the nation’s No. 192 overall player and No. 16 running back becomes the first offensive skill position player to sign. The Ducks have also added five transfers, including former Auburn starting quarterback Bo Nix.

The Oakland High School product could be in line to be an immediate contributor for the Ducks after running back C.J. Verdell opted for the NFL draft and Travis Dye transferred to USC. James led his Oakland squad to a perfect 30-0 record with two state championships as a junior and senior. 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Cooper Petagna had this evaluation of James:

Inside runner that displays a very good feel and instincts between the tackles. Plays with patience, demonstrating good vision when setting up runs and cutback lanes. Appears to have above average short area burst and separation quickness, showing the ability to separate from defenders at the second level. Possesses above average play speed and long speed to outrun defenders in the open field. Displays good make you miss ability between the tackles, showing the ability to run through you or around you. Plays with an excellent center of gravity, excelling after contact. Flashes some pass catching ability out of the backfield, but is difficult to evaluate off the sample size.
