IND vs AUS: Predicted India Test Squad For Australia (Border-Gavaskar Trophy). The Australian cricket team toured India in September 2022 to play three T20I matches as a preparatory series before the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, after which they’re scheduled to tour in February and March 2023 to play four IND vs AUS Test matches.

In August 2022, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the schedule for the IND vs AUS T20Is. The IND vs AUS Test matches will form part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. Australia won the first T20I by 4 wickets, to lead the series 1–0. The second T20I was reduced to 8 overs per side due to a wet outfield, with India winning the match by 6 wickets. India won the third and final T20I by 6 wickets to win the series 2–1.

Chennai or Nagpur or Hyderabad is likely to host the first IND vs AUS Test, and Ahmedabad the last one. One of the 4 IND vs AUS Tests is expected to be a day-nighter.
The BCCI has so far hosted three day-night Tests, played with a pink ball: against Bangladesh in Kolkata in 2019, against England in Ahmedabad in 2021, and against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru earlier this year. The last Test played in Delhi was in December 2017, against Sri Lanka.

These will be the last fixtures for both Australia and India before the ICC World Test Championship final, to be played at The Oval in London in June next year. India is expected to announce the same squad for the upcoming Australia Test series in 2023 as the one against Bangladesh if Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami recover from injuries.

With Wriddhiman Saha not in the scheme of things, the 23-year-old Ishan Kishan, who recently scored a double ton in the preceding ODI series against Bangladesh, is competing with another gloveman, KS Bharat, for the Test cap in the 4-match Test series against Australia in place of injured Rishabh Pant.

India’s probable Test squad for the IND vs AUS 2023 Australia series:- Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul (VC), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan (wk), KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Jasprit Bumrah.

KL Rahul

Senior Indian batter, KL Rahul made his Test debut for India in the Boxing-day Test match in Melbourne against Australia in 2014. Since then, he has delivered some excellent knocks with the bat for India in the longest format of the game.
He averages 34.26 in 45 Tests where he managed 2604 runs. He could score only 57 runs in 4 innings in the recent Bangladesh tour averaging only 14.25 but had won both Tests as a stand-in skipper.
