The 32-year-old right-handed hitter, who is ranked #1 in the T20I rankings, blasted his third T20I century in the series finale to help India secure a 91-run triumph. He faced 51 deliveries in all and scored 112 runs unbroken. He hit seven fours and as many as nine sixes during his time at the crease.
Surya had a fantastic 2022, amassing 1164 runs across 31 games, and he has continued that success in 2023. Despite only scoring seven runs in the first game of the series against Sri Lanka, Surya bounced back to score 51 runs off just 36 balls in the second T20I. Then, in the third game, which had a lot on the line, he showed class by playing arguably one of the most memorable innings.

“I love batting in all difficult situations. It’s difficult to pick any one inning. I just enjoyed myself in whatever I did last year and doing the same thing again. As I’ve said earlier as well, I try to enjoy whenever I go to bat and express myself as much as possible. In those difficult situations, a. And if it works for me and for the team, I’m happy,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will play Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series beginning on Tuesday in Guwahati after winning the T20I series.
