The 28-year-old star India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has provided a massive update on his comeback to competitive cricket after missing out on action due to an injury.
Samson was ruled out of the T20I series against Sri Lanka after sustaining an injury to his knee while attempting to field a ball near the boundary ropes during the 1st T20I at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma was added to India’s squad as a replacement for Samson.
“He was taken for scans and a specialist opinion this afternoon in Mumbai by the BCCI Medical Team and has been advised rest and rehabilitation. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Jitesh Sharma as replacement for Sanju Samson,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in an official media release.
Meanwhile, Samson was not included in the white-ball squads for the series against New Zealand and the BCCI hadn’t given any update on his recovery or his non-selection.
